Just some of the things we have on offer:
- Exhibition area showing some of our work and how icons are made
- Presentation on icons, their meaning, place in the liturgy, etc.
- See an icon being made
- Praying with icons
- One day immersion into the world of the icon
- Meeting local Palestinian iconographers
The BIC is not a business but a community of spiritual artists working together. As such we are more of a family, and the BIC is our home. We have a passion about icons and about their place in Palestinian Christian history and wish to share that with you!
As such we want to extend a very warm welcome to the many thousands, if not millions of pilgrims and visitors to Bethlehem, and hope that some of you will pass by to come and say hello and to find out more.
We have a lecture hall and informal greeting area, as well as a beautiful courtyard, where we can welcome you and introduce ourselves and our mission. We also have a small shop which we hope to develop into a store offering everything about the Icon and Liturgy. Here you can purchase a memento of your visit, such as postcards of some of our work, books and also artist's supplies exactly the same as those used by us in the Centre.
We also have an exhibition area, where you can see examples of the student's work and an explanation of how they are made. We have a research assistant on our staff and we are committed to developing the exhibition to give an in-depth presentation of the origins of Christian iconography in the Byzantine Holy Land.
