OUR MISSION:

REVIVING PALESTINIAN ICONOGRAPHY

The Bethlehem Icon Centre is based in Bethlehem, the birthplace and ancestral home of Jesus Christ. It is dedicated to the renewal of iconography as a living part of the spiritual landscape of the Holy Land through a commitment to the highest standards of sacred liturgical art. By reviving an essential element of our ancient culture it seeks to strengthen the dwindling Christian population of the city and of the entire Land of Canaan. It is the only project of its kind in the Middle East and even in the entire world.

Furthermore, it also seeks to serve the wider community through offering opportunities for individuals from around the world, to study iconography in the unique spiritual environment of Bethlehem, the ancestral City of Christ and its birthplace, and where the philosophy of compassionate love of Jesus was first glorified and spread throughout the entire world.
